The Visibility Project
The Visibility Project is a series of paintings that center Black female breast cancer survivors whose chests were radically transformed through surgery. In 2023, my life was profoundly disrupted by a breast cancer diagnosis. In the aftermath, I began documenting the emotional, physical and financial realities of survival through sketches and paintings, using my practice as a way to process what could not be easily spoken. This personal journey evolved into The Visibility Project. You can learn more about paintings in The Visibility Project by following my Substack.
